i wouldn't get in on medical grounds but i want to be a marine biologist so i'll get to scuba dive and go on ships, plus i have my own saling dinghy and going on courses with the cadets make me competant when sailing it.
Bobjugs -Ex-RAF (1968 - 1972) though I still take an interest.
No MK a PO is equivelant to a RAF or Army Sgt.
The Navy equivilant to a Aircraftsman is an Ordinary or Able Rate
Redman, that table is wrong mate, sorry
Comparative officer ranks are fairly straightforward. With NCO and other ranks it is more complicated as there are often no equivalent ranks across all three services. For example the lowest NCO rank in the RN is Petty Officer, in the RAF Corporal (no RN equivalent) and in the Army Lance-corporal (no RN or RAF equivalent).
Oh the joys of working on a tri-service base lol

i'm just glad that there are only a couple of rates different from army and marines.

MK, a CPO is a Flight Sgt in the RAF and a Staff or Colour Sgt in the Army

phew, its sorted, because they thought most of the bookwork i hadn't done was general knowledge and other stuff i should have picked up, i did almost all of the test, the commanding officer (whose also the drill instructor) just has to pass me off on my drill, and i have to do about one or two more things, but the msot important thing, which i did worst on, for my cadet to ordinary test, rates and ranks, i passed, thanks guys.
