Problem With Job Advert

I seen an advert for a job through an agency on the jobcentre plus website and thought it sounded right for me, so i phone up early in the morning ( ie opening time ) to speak with someone about it and to put my name foward for the role, However i was told that the person dealing with that job was busy and i was to leave my details and he would come back to me as soon as he could. So i waited until around 3pm and sent an email just to remind this person that i was still waiting for the callback about the job. Then at about twenty five to six i get a reply from the person saying ' The role has been taken this afternoon ' Now apart from being a little bit miffed by this person's actions is there anything i can do about it as i feel it's been dealt with VERY underhand way?

I'd tell both the agency and jobcentre how you've been treated.

Had the job been advertised for a while? If that was the case I'd say it's more than feasible they had already found someone by the time you rang or were finalising the details.
