Your NVQ will be work-based, so I'm not sure why you need work notes? The purpose of an NVQ is to evidence that you are undertaking the tasks and that you have the competencies required by each unit of the award. What sort of thing are you looking for? Your assessor - and your induction pack - should identify what's required of the NVQ. Additional reading etc will be useful but the units chosen and agreed between you, your employer and your assessor will highlight the skills and knowledge you need to be able to demonstrate. You say you're doing it at home but presumably you work (paid or voluntary) with young people?
Contact your local council. They will put you in touch with the local Youth Service.Explain your situation, they may offer you voluntary work with young people. Hands on experience is invaluable.!
It would be useful to know if you are already working with young people - if not you will need to be. There would be an application process to become a voluntary Youth Worker (I have been through that myself for voluntary work I do outside the day job) and then you would need a CRB check which they MAY pay for, before you can work with the young people. Hoping to see your reply soon!
Thanks for your answers Boxtops, I do work within a youth organisation - Boys Brigade, i was just looking for a few ideas, on how to answer some of the questions that are required in the mandatory section. - i think i can answer it all myself i just wanted some reassurance that what i was doing was correct. Thanks again
