Science, teachers and women
0 Answers
After watching the report on Newsnight in response to the Harvard president's comments on women in high-level science studies, I was wondering whether the statement that there are relatively few female science and maths teachers - in my experience, it is the other way round, at least up to A-Level - I had only one male maths teacher for 7 years through secondary school.
However, now at university, it has become immediately apparent that there are a far greater number of male lecturers and professors in my department, Electronics and Computer Science, and this disproportionality is also represented in the students. Anyone know of any institutions where this trend is reversed?
