Hi guys can you help me out with something please.

I am writing a C.V up with my mother for her to get back into work. She has some work experience but not alot and has mostly been a mum/house person all her life. The c.v is done and looks pretty good but I need a reason/statement for why she is leaving her current employer. Basically she took a part-time/term-time job a couple of months ago to get herself back into working life, but needs a full time job to support herself. What can I put on the statement to explain the reason for leaving?

If I put 'because it is part-time' she will look daft for taking it knowing she needed full time work
If I put 'for experience'she will look like she will take any job and not really care about it?

Help

Thanks

I am currently working part time but now wish to seek a more challenging and fullfilling full time role within (name of job / business).

Thanks - I am brain fried from all the c.v ness
Greedyfly would it be better to 'lose' the job she had recently; they will never know. That way she can honestly say what she is looking for and be honest about not having worked for a while.
Many employers will be glad of somebody like your mum; having brought up kids she will most definitely be hard working, practical, trustworthy and efficient in the world of work and this should be stated on the CV without doubt. Good luck mum!!

Thanks Sunflower. I agree she will be great once she gets back into it. Just a little bit daunting getting into the working life again when you have been away so long. I am sure she will do great. C.V is complete and she is set to go =)
Good luck to her - let us know how she gets on!
but she hasnt left yet so dont put anything just date she started to present. if she gets an interview she can explain all you have put then

I will indeed. She has been volunteering for the last few years so she isn't getting thrown in at the deep end at least. I think it will do her good now my sister and I have left home etc...
Volunteering is an excellent thing to have on a c.v.!

Indeedy and its been good for her. She did some counselling courses and basically counsels people who have been subjected to crime - worthy work!
