Hi all. I am looking at moving into a flat on my own in the next few months. I have rented before with a mate from work but because he lost his job, I had to move back home as couldn't afford the rent on my own. When the agents did a credit check on us, mine came back ok but my mates one got flagged as he had a ccj so he used a guarantor, but not too sure wether that was just for him or it was for both of us as it was a joint tennancy. I was also wondering, if I went back to the same estate agents or any other one, would they need one off of me. Also, I am 25, and in full time employment with a regular income each month if this makes any difference.

No, as long as you personally have a reasonable credit rating yourself you'll be fine. (been in your position myself)

Thanks, I mean, before me and my mate settled on the estate agents we went with, they did a check on us there and mine came back ok but his didn't. To be fair, I haven't got that a great credit reference though
As far as I know, if you don't have any debts recorded anywhere you will have a good credit rating. So skinny go for it.Ron.
