Step Children

I have been with my 2nd husband for 5 years now. He has two children aged 13 and 14. They both live with their mum (my husbands ex).

I own my own house and have one son aged 15 from my previous marriage who lives with me.
My husband moved into my house after being together for a year, and his children come and stay every other weekend.
Everything was fine for the first couple of years. I turned my spare room into my step daughters own bedroom so she felt comfortable when she came to stay. My stepson shared my son's bedroom.
We have taken them on holidays every year, bought them clothes, treated them more than well for bithdays and christmas...made sure they never felt left out.

My husbands ex had an affair whilst married to my husband and also had a baby which was eventually proven with DNA tests, not to be my husbands after all. Although I was not happy with what his ex did to him, i never ever bad mouthed her infront of the children, quite the opposite... always asking how mum was etc.
Unfortunately his ex did not do the same with the children. She always told the children that since meeting me, he doesn't give her much money, he cares more for both myself and my son than his own children. His ex has also told the children that if my husband was a proper dad he would have picked them up from school every day when they were younger. My husband had to be at work,and lives 25 miles away, so it would not have been possible.

The truth is that my husband has always paid for the children, plus maintenance for his ex wife. He actually pays more each month than he should. He also pays half towards all school trips, outings, pays over £200 for his son to play football every year, bought them all clothes for here, plus loads more. We have never treated the children any different from each other, and always made them welcome and confortable.
