1) If I did two exams for a subjects but only got the overall grade, including corsework, can I find out what grades I got on what?
2) How much does it cost to have a paper remarked, and would I have to pay for both to be done or jsut one that's lower than expected, if it is only one that is?

Mollykins, in my opinion, once you get to the point of applying for "University", and if you get an interview then your performance at that interview is probably more important than the grades they request. If they want you the grade requirements might be very low. They will be asking within the panel, "Does this person have the qualities that we want at our University?" rather than if he/she can get the grades we need to take this applicant!
I'd appreciate an opinion from Novalis on this however!
As an amusing, but substantiating anecdote, a friend's son applied for a place at Oxbridge, at the interview he was asked "Why should we save the whales?". His answer was, "Because they are aesthetically pleasing." He got the place, with minimal grade requirements and went on to achieve a First!

Hi Mollykins!
DocHH is right about your university applications/interviews. That having been said I can understand your anxiety about actually going on to do A Level Geography.
Your school should have access to your marks for each paper but, if you do appeal, both papers will be re-marked. Neither will be re-marked by the original examiner.

Hang on - not that I'm doubting the friend's son studied at "Oxbridge" - but I remember hearing this exact anecdote at least 20 years ago. Do I detect an urban myth - there are a few associated with entrance exams/interviews - or did this bloke's answer attract that much attention?!
