My Old job
23 Answers
As you may all know by now I was made redundant back in February because of lack of work in our offices. Anyway whilst doing my daily job search I have seen they are advertising again for my old job!! I dont know whether I should be angry at the fact they didnt contact me to see if I wanted to go back. Should I apply? Would you go back to a past job?

Similar happened to me, they advertised through an agency I joined and they put me forward (I had all the experience to do the 'temporary' job!) but I was declined....maybe they think I would have created a fuss or been bitter at being made redundant earlier, I am not sure....all sorts of reasons I suspect. I would apply if I were you although be prepared for a refusal...good luck!
well it wasnt there at the time bobbi but they have got busy again. Plus I'm not looking at it as a long time position now as hopefully start family but I need something for moment. This is through a recruitment but I have emailed the boss direct to take into consideration having me back. They would be silly to train someone new.
PS _ but if they've got round it, and it's legal, then yes I wouldn't mind going for it. Redundancy doesn't mean you weren't good at it, only that they didn't need that job doing last February. They're certainly not obliged to contact you, you're an ex-employee now, you might have been happily in another job if things had worked out ;-)
237SJ I was one of the highest paid and had been there 14 years so cost alot to get rid of me. 3 of us were all made redundant then only 1 job to go for, me and other woman went for job other woman went voluntary redundancy. I left after a week the voluntary woman was asked to leave after a month and she's still there as they got busy again.
