REDUNDANCY PAYMENT DEDUCTIONS
11 Answers
My ex employer has deducted £500 from my final payment for an alleged expenses float that he says was paid to me in April 2006.
I have no recolection of this payment and have never been told or asked about it prior to being made redundent.
Is he allowed to take this money from my payment without first asking me, if at all, and what laws are in place to protect me against this.
He has also failed to provide me with a P45 after nearly four weeks of waiting and i have not received a pay slip for over six months now.

What did it say in your original contract of employment about having a repayable expenses float? - I had this when I worked in industry but I had to sign for it when I had the original advance. I believe it's illegal not to provide you with a pay slip.
No, you would be giving him the receipts - I started out with a float of £50 then each month I submitted receipts (train tickets etc) and was repaid the amount to keep it at £50. You would surely have know if he advanced you £500 four years ago for expenses - I would know if I had £500 unexpectedly in my pay packet.
No, he is saying that it is a £500 expenses float payment with no recipts to show for it which is weird seeing that i had to submit expenses sheets every month.
I have asked him to provide me with copies of all submitted expenses sheets by me for the period 2006 onwards and proof of recipt of the said float but he seems to be just ignoreing me not.
Can feel a tribunual coming on !!!
