hello everyone
my mate's an employed courier driver at the moment starting a night shift at 1800 hours finishing at 0600 hours. The controller TOLD him to be ready to start work at 1530 he would doing local work before going on his long distance delivery. My question is how long can he legally drive he drives a mercedes sprinter with no tacho
help would be appreciated

However all employees must have a minimum break of 11 hours between each working day. So, if your friend finishes work at 0600, his next shift can't commence before 1700:

Most night workers should not work, on average, more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period. However, employees in the transport industry are exempted from that requirement but must still receive 'adequate rest':
