Is this a UK company?
Question Author
No. It is a Indian company
So does Indian law apply here? What sort of job requires a 2 year bond?
I don't know about Indian law but I think they'd have a good case for seeking compensation but I doubt they would pursue it unless they know you have the resources to pay the sort of compensation they would want.
Didn't you also pull out of a Diplomo course a while ago?
More important than whether it is an Indian company is to ask whether it is operating in the UK (or under UK laws). My guess is that it isn't - because asking someone to commit to a 2 year service contract is pretty unusual, though not impossible.
It becomes a contractual issue, not an employment law issue, and are potentially in breach of contract (under many countries legislation), for which you might get sued for their costs associated with your breach.
HI BM- I think we know from the OP's other posts that he is in India (eg his currency is rupees).
