I did try for compensation, when it happened but my letters were ignored, people on A.B. are asking why I want compensation so I will go further into the details of what happened. When we were passing over Ireland en-route to Glasgow, the Pilot said we would be going to Manchester and the plane would be waiting to transfer us. I asked one of the cabin crew why we were going to Manchester when we were so close to Glasgow and she said that they had a problem with an engine and if they were to land in Glasgow the plane wouldn't be allowed to take off again, I would like to point out that this is the engine which had banged and there was a flash from it 6 hours previously, if the pi,lot was so concerned I could not understand why he hadn't returned to the Dominican as we were only an hour into the flight, yet he flew for a further 6 hours before deciding that he was concerned about it. We were told that there would be a plane waiting for us when we landed and we would be transferred onto it and go straight off to Glasgow but when we landed and we were parked next to the plane, we had to sit on it for 3 hours whilst they were waiting for a replacement crew to take us through to Glasgow, and it was only when they arrived that we were transferred onto the other plane so we arrived back in Glasgow over 5 hours after we were meant to arrive, so I had to phone to tell my boss that he would need to get 2 drivers to do the school runs that afternoon as we wouldn't make it in, as I had told him that we would do the run when we got back. I hope that this explains to bedknobs, it was nothing to do with the air conditioning
