Does anyone have any advice on the best way to make a living on ebay? Or if not making a living, using it to earn regular extra income.

A guy from my town was ebay's first UK millionaire. He used to work in Tesco. Now drives a Ferrari! He started off specialised in electrical items at first and he turned it in to a very healthy career.
yes, buy things at a low price and sell them at a high price!
apparently boks such as Uni books etc sell well as long as there from 2007onwards
these can be picked up from charity shops and carboot sales
xD
Friends of ours make £200-£300 a week. They buy items such as old toys, CDs, vinyl, ceramics (mind you they know what is saleable) from table tops/boot/jumble sales, etc and only pay a small amount for the items. They don't buy anything too large to send through the post. Their descriptions are 100% accurate and they consequently have 100% positive feedback after 5,000 transactions.
I wish I had the know how and then I could retire and get a similar tax free income!
