myself and a few other women have been working casual for sometime, each one of us does 4 evening each.we all had to wait until there was vacancy to get the job.now, our employer wants to cut our hours.someone who does not want to wait for a vacancy to come up decided she wants to work now (before she said the job was unsocial hours).we have always done a good job and have never been in trouble.can our employer do this?
if it's casual work and they just don't have the hours for you, there is little else they can do. Above advise is right imo, if you have a contract of employment, check that.
I am almost certain that casual employee or not, you should still have either a contract or statement of employment. The above link should help you find out
Google ACAS for more help if needed
*Just* because you are employed on a casual basis doesn't mean you have no rights
