// The founder of the far-right English Defence League Stephen Lennon has been charged with common assault.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: 'A 28-year-old man has been charged with common assault following an English Defence League demonstration in Blackburn on April 2. //
We live in a country where the disciples of truth rather than listened to are attacked by the far left and other interested bodies. Its a pity because the main message is obliterated.
Now there's a surprise, the Far-Left get let off, and a member of the Far-Right is given a suspended sentence and put on a curfew, plus paying charges, for just missing a punch.
You just couldn't make it up.
Couldn't be anything with the colour of their skin could it?
Better to be careful of racist charges against the establishment, or charges of police brutality even, much cheaper to let him go.
"Now there's a surprise, the Far-Left get let off, and a member of the Far-Right is given a suspended sentence and put on a curfew, plus paying charges, for just missing a punch."
If it had happened the other way around, you'd be ridiculing the conspiracy theorists arguing that the result was manipulated.
If Bennett was found innocent, there's a good chance (though admittedly not certain) that he was.
// The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have identified the UAF organisation as responsible behind the weekend's violence in Bolton. According to GMP Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan, his officers faced "a lot of hostility" and "unwarranted attacks" which injured many officers.
After arresting at least 65 members of the UAF, including their secretary, Weyman Bennett, the police said: "Today in Bolton we have seen groups of people, predominantly associated with the UAF, engaging in violent confrontation."
Chief Constable Shewan went on to say: "It is clear to me that a large number have attended with the sole intention of committing disorder and their actions have been wholly unacceptable." //
// Well funded by the Unions so they get the best lawyers hence they get let off. //
This did not get to court so no lawyers were involved. It is strange that he was arrested before hundreds of witnesses, and the police decided they did not have a case.
I have no idea where your report has come from, but it does not surprise me. The UAF are not angels and also attract its share of nutters. The police have an impossible job trying to balance peoples' right to protest and keeping order. Their job is undermined by people who say one side is being let off and the other side victimised, without any evidence, other than made up, to support such a claim.
In reference to my earlier post, can anyone post any similar news items of "hand wringing"/"Nasty Left"/"far left" people reported for similar violent assaults ?
(I'll check back in a couple of weeks)
does this include the students riots of recent days. Over student fees, taken over by anarchists, or so they say. Are they not far left, or are you referring only to UAF
it gets confusing when there are so many action groups.
for ap he did not say it had to be recent and i remember this being on the local radio station and also please note that i have put a link to the bbc not any newspaper so it must be true
prancer, look up martin smith, who was joint secretary of the far-left UAF, and is also the national coordinator of Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR). Convicted for violent assault on a police officer Sept 2010.
