Stress

A year ago there was an incident in my workplace, i received no councilling or help from my employers, infact my manager said "well done". Ever since then i have had nightmares and i am now back on medication for depression/anxiety. Last week i developed a chest infection which has totally taken me off my feet, i feel very lethargic and my mood is low. The lawyer who is representing our company for the coroners inquest contacted me to see if i have made any arrangement for having time off work, i said no, but ever since then my health is suffering. Has anyone any advice i cannot afford to be off work ill, sick pay is too low and after all my partner and i have bills to pay.

It is possible for GP's to refer you for free NHS counselling. There is usually a waiting list for NHS counselling, but they do usually get back to you in a few weeks. I understand that it is also possible for you to do a self referral for free NHS counselling ( but I am not sure if every NHS hospital allows this, but at least some in london do).In any event I think it is better to get a GP referral as this will go on your GP records in case you need to use them for any future legal action against your employer.
