I am from a Commonwealth Country that uses the Privy Council in The UK as the final Courts, what are the standard grounds for divorce, can the person wanting the divorce proceed with it on their own merits?

This can be proved by 2 years separation, with consent of both parties; or 5 years separation without the consent of the other.

If the aggrieved party feels the marriage has broken down entirely and can never continue that is enough.
It is very easy to get divorced in the UK although a lot of couples prefer to wait for the two years separation and divorce amicably. If they want a quickie divorce one can accuse the other of adultery, the other admit it, and that's it. No third party has to be named.
