If you are partime, contracted to between one and four days a week, but normally only work one, then cover 6 months at rate of 4 days a week, is this deemed a change to your contract or overtime. How would holiday be calculated for that employee for the year. Extra days worked are paid at flat working day rate.

What are your entitlements if you do not want to work 4 days and only want to do less - if they drop days at the drop of a hat are you allowed to say i would rather not do the extra days

contract says nothing about how much notice you are allowed when being asked to work . I just feel I can never plan to do anything incase I am required to work, which is not really fair. if i have things planned for rota days off and you are not the only one who can be asked can you say no? Who knows!

i don't want to say no until I know my rights which you should understand. I was hoping for clarification regarding the holidays - that aspect is about a colleague who covered my extra days whilst i was in hospital and long term sick. I know I still accrue holidays whilst off sick but is she entitled to holidays according to the days she works extra - how do you calculate holidays when working weeks are not regular - are you saying it is win win for the employer Bedknobs.
no it doesn't really - my colleague normally works one day wee ( contract says she is part time any amount between one and 4 days per week) i go off sick feb back aug - colleage works 4 days per week until i am back - does she still only get 4 days per year plus bank hols as holiday entitlement or does it go up to match the hiours worked
