Myself and two friends booked an expensive break, £975 each. I paid in full, on my credit card - I'm still owe £400.

One of the friends (the lead passenger) stopped speaking to me for four months. After having no joy in my many efforts of reconciling with her I spoke to the travel company about cancelling. They told me I would lose £240. I accepted that loss (£240) as the break would have been very unpleasant for all three of us. The travel company sent £500 to the lead passenger explaining that her and the other persons holidays had gone up and once they had added their £117.50 each to the £500 that would be my full refund.

The lead passenger returned my £500. but my 'friends' say they will not pay the rest of my refund.

You actually asked the question. Why are you getting so stroppy? You should have gone to ABTA in the first place.
You obviously ignored this note on the opening page of the Law Section?
