International Flight Delayed

A international flight got delayed by 10hrs.Now , i am aware as this is not a EU flight or travelled from EU to non eu country and therefore compensation is not applicable.
But the tickets were return and the original departure was from UK - so does the actual tickets make any difference ? or is it strictly where the single (return)flight departed from ?

If you are delayed flying from a non-EU country to an EU country then the compensation regulations apply. The ticketing doesn't matter

You may well have trouble enforcing this though.

It will only be the return leg ticketing that is relevant - not the outbound journey

Of that I'm reasonably confident

It's the actual journey that counts - not where the ticket was bought
