EBAY state if stolen items are sold on their site they recommend that anyone with this knowledge should contact their law enforcement force. Is this not a complete cop out of EBAY's responsilibily to their customers.
You do not go into a department store and expect to get stolen goods for your money. So, what is different with an online store.

Also, if I had a load of stolen goods for sale, I wouldn't be advertising cheap goods on Ebay.
It's my understanding that 'the law' is taking it's own sweet time in catching up to this new thingy called the internet.

porkchop, eBay's customer is the seller, not the buyer. eBay makes no money from buyers.
As already stated, there are trillions of listings on eBay and to monitor each one is impossible. If you buy stolen or fake goods on eBay you should report it to both eBay and the relevant authority.
Ebay has more in common with a car boot sale than a department store. If stolen/fake goods are sold in a car boot sale it is the sellers that get prosecuted not the organisers of the car boot sale.
