My PS3 cannot be repaired so John Lewis offered me option to buy another or a full refund. However, refund seems best option as they actually no longer sell PS3s.My friend claims because of this that they should upgrade me at no extra cost to a PS4.I don't think he is right - what is situation regarding unavailable replacements?
Your friend is not right....get a refund...or a PS4, paying the extra yourself.
You should not expect to come out of these situations better off than you went in to them....so no "upgrades" are due!
How long ago did you buy the PS3, they've been out for years? If they've offered a refund I think that's very generous - you can buy PS3s elsewhere. By the way in general you can't play PS3 games on a PS4.
Very true gingebee and if yourfriend was right doesn't it suggest you could have bought a PS1 and expect JL to upgrade you through 2, 3 and then 4 because they all develop faults eventually.
Have you asked them if they have a PS3?
How long have you owned it? When my camera was stolen I got an upgrade to the equivalent model because my model was obsolete, but I'd had it less than 3 months.
you have been offered an option of another PS3 or refund
choose one or the other - no they dont have to upgrade - whatever makes you think they do ? ( besides helpful fren' saying yeah what they should do is .... )
Peter apparently the PS3 is no longer available, so can't be replaced.
I'm not sure about that though.
If that's the case, the length of time the OP has owned it may come into play.
If it's only a month old, I'd want a free upgrade too.
Yes sneakily quote without the full context "John Lewis sent me email stating I could buy another PS3." At no point in their email did they state that they do not stock them anymore.
