Kidas.......your point is well taken and usually "he who pays the piper calls the tune" However if one has a happy work force, then the business tends to thrive, but over the years the removal of posts has been a contentious issue and with falling posters, this problem should be taken seriously. No posters means no AB. I am not suggesting that the decrease in...

Ab Rules OK!
But rules are not made to be broken.
If you have a problem with Site Rules suggest you e-mail Ed.

I understand what you mean though. It's just curiosity as to why a thread goes, especially when it seemed fairly innocent.

I do think that, if one has a tread removed, an explanation is given as to why.

Not a post, a thread.
I forget who said this first but, 'Rules are made for the obedience of fools and for the guidance of wise men'.

I agree with you. That was my point.
Given that running this site is not, as I understand it, Ab Editor's only job, I can understand why there is a refusal to enter into discussion about why a thread has been pulled. 99% of the time, if you have seen the thread, its pretty obvious anyway. As for challenging the decision, that would just get tedious.....
Think we should tread carefully on this one in case it gets removed
I love the idea that of a Middle-Ages AB Gnome rubbing his hands gleefully at yet another thread unfairly removed from the website.

Challenge would be difficult if the thread has already been sent to the void.

No one would wish to get into an argument, er I mean discussion, on why something was pulled.

An explanation from a standard explanation list might achieve something but it would leave a trace that there has been an issue so hardly attractive.

Unsure what could reasonably be done. Revert to e-mailing Ed ?
Yes, I can see both sides of this problem, but basically I agree with you Jordy. The undoubted increase in threads concerning the debate over the removal of threads may be a blessing in disguise, as, in my opinion, the quantity and quality of AB threads has been falling over the past few years.
A good old punch up over a removed thread/post might well be welcomed.
Woofgang is right - we don't have time to enter into discussions or justify why things are removed, and it would be very tedious to do so.
Discussing 'the rules' is pointless. They're elastic.
The reason there's no discussion is to avoid a protracted discussion going over and over the same points already made in the belief that the management can be worn down like a mountain by the wind and rain.

It's not big and it's not clever. Not even original.

Stay or go. The roolz are there for all to see and there will be no revolution.
