I have been conned and i am furious with my own stupidy for a change,i took out a years travel insuarance and was told at the time there would be no problem with renewal, tried just now to renew and was told at 81 we dont do multi policy you will have to take the single and more expensive one,i have searched for the email telling me last year no problem and have just remembered it was that i was told over the phone no problem with renewal, you would think at my age i would have known better than to trust salespeople.
It doesn't really matter whether you can prove what you were told or not. The Company is entitled to change its terms and conditions at any time and you only have a contract with them for 12 months. In the same way that you can decline to take out a new policy (because the conditions and/or price don't suit you) they can decline to insure you (because they do not like the risk).
You are not obliged to take out a policy with them. Take a look at a go compare site to get the best rate and make sure all the details are sent to you by email.
I listed every single thing that was wrong with me. I had to explain how it effected my on a daily basis. I got charged £30 for two weeks away. The year before I got a bit poorly it was £15.
Jordy....it's your age and it's probably a computer making the decision. xx
It is a computer making the decision, there is nothing personal about it. Get online and spend a couple of hours searching the net, there are some good ones out there, if its cheaper to take a yearly plan out, then do it, if not go for the 2 or 3 week plan. I have found that the company 'OK To Travel' are very reasonable, I am 70 with a few health issues but have found their prices very good. Online at www.oktotravelinsurance.co.uk good luck.
But things may have changed since then - they may no longer be able to provide cover to those of that age.
They are not crooks - you are looking at this emotionally sweetness. xx
