went to the store earlier with my mom. The cashier was scanning things then sliding them to me to bag. The last two items she slid to me was Like windex, and some yogurt. I of course bagged them separately. I didnt say anything at the time, because I wasn't sure it was warranted, and I'd rather avoid confrontation, and if I said something now, I feel it would be a bit awkward.

So the cashier didn't put chemicals together, you were bagging the items  and averted a near catastrophe, an heroic effort on your behalf!

The cashier scanned the items in the order you presented them.

Lord, please help those that wish to blame everyone else..

When she slid them to me, I think they touched.

I hope you hadn't put them in the same basket or didn't pick both items off the shelf with the same hand.

MNext time I suggest you should make two separate visits to the shop.

Good job there wasn't a major spill out!!

In General, I'd agree.

Just how does one protect their purchases from contamination whilst shopping these days?

What is the world comming too?

Accepting responsibility?

Heaven help us all.

Cindy

You worry too much - in a perfect world, we should not put such items in the same bag.  But in the real world, we must use some common sense.

It is hard enough to live in this crazy world.  You must learn to relax and accept that none of us are perfect.

I wouldn't even think twice about putting them in the same bag.

Oh, shame on you Boto!

Please join the I don't give a rats rectum club!

Is this for real?

The rats rectum club David?

I'm considering creating a Facebook group for those that don't care about the trivial rubbish some people post about.

Would you join?

I could do with some Windex.

I would assume the Windex was in a sealed  container, not leaking.  And you would wash the fruit when you get home.... Blooming heck. I put bog cleaner in with food, it's all wrapped to the point of stupidity anyway.  It's the sort of rubbish you read on mumsnet....AIBU..... Yes yes a dozen times yes.

Cindy, avoid getting bleach and scouring powder in the same proximity. Mixed together, they give off Chlorine Gas! A killer!

I suppose reporting the cashier is a change from reporting your friend, neighbour, brother, uncle to the police for child abuse or animal abuse!

did the cashier also mix up your live ammo and your blanks because that could have been deadly ?

Is this just a spam troll thing ?

The cashier only scans the items in the order that you or your mother put them on the belt, so really you would need to report yourselves.  As Redhelen put nearly all your questions are about reporting someone or other.  Do you get something out of doing it.

1ozzy - just to raise a point you mentioned.  I lay out my shopping in the order I want to bag it up - potatoes, veg, salad etc together, bottles, jars, breads, packets and so on and  the cashier, well one in particular, will reach beyond what he has started scanning and scan items I don't want mixed with the heavy stuff.  I'll wait or say 'can I have the rest of the tins please'.

Yes you would be a bad person.

^For reporting them^
