Hymie -- You would do well to read up on the King and most of the other Royals re. paying tax Charles has paid tax since the 1960s At one time he paid  at the rate of 50% . The late Queen even paid Council tax on all four of her private properties.

Believe it or not, on Friday I was in Marylebone and saw a number of police officers standing around a hospital entrance.  There was a single press video photographer opposite, and I asked him who the police were there for – and he informed me that it was King Charles, for his prostrate operation (and not some criminal they were guarding, as I had thought).

I can assure you that the vehicles present to transport King Charles and his entourage to Buckingham Palace were 4x4 gas guzzlers.

One of the vehicles (which was a large Range Rover with privacy glass) had a registration number something like HMS 1, which I thought was a bit of a giveaway.
