14 old son trying to rule the house
My 14 year old son moved out to a friends home a couple of weeks ago, and we were told that we did not have any rights to make him come back. At 14 he could move to another house, and providing that there was a responsible adult there he could stay!
His older brother who is in the army came to see us for a day and managed to get him to come home, but since then he wants all the attention, and all he seems to think about is money and how he can get it. My partner who is not his mother is getting the brunt of his behaviour because I work long hours and she has two younger children of her own who she needs to give attention to.
When my partner does anything for her children my son is always there asking what he is going to get, and seems not to understand that he cannot always be put first. Every time that we try to ask him to do something that he doesn't want to do he threatends to run off again. The woman that he was staying with keeps encouraging him to go to her house, and this is also not helping the situation.
Does anyone have any advise on how to handle the situation, or any legal advise that they could give as far as the situation with him running away. I know that teenagers can be a handfull as they grow up as I have been through this before, but not with a third party interfering with the situation
