covering for sick leave

I have been covering for a work colleaugue for 9 months doing her job as well as my own , she now has another sick note for 6 months I aceppt she has had a major illness and feel very sorry for her as we are good friends but to be honest i doubt if she could ever do her job again when she comes back I also have my own health problems waiting to see consultant where do i stand about getting some help in the meantime my boss says no money in kitty to cover her sick pay and employ a temp

have you got a union rep to discuss this with? doing two jobs will wear you out. its not your responsibility, its your bosses to sort it out and i would tell him you cant cope doing 2 jobs on yourown.

doesn't some money for sick pay come from the government?

contact the citizens advice bureau they should be able to help.

If your doing the job of 2 people, you boss is saving money, maybe slow down and show him you need help?
