Missing fathers name on birth certificate
My Grandfather was born in 1920, there is no father listed on the birth certificate, his mother was not married (name listed on certificate is maiden name)
How could I go about finding who his father was, this all happened in Kent, UK

Thanks for your reply, this is my first time on this site. I know the address where my grandfather was born and I think it was a private house. I guess my next move is to go there and check out the property, see if it is a private house and maybe check locally if people know who owned it in 1920 and why my great-grandmother was there to give birth.

I have tried the google search. there was a poor house in the same road so there could be a link but I have a feeling in this case we are looking for a private home. The poor house does not have their records online yet or their postal address so I will have to look a little further.
The place we are interested in is the village of Eastry, I think a trip there and a walk around is the best option.
My Grandfather did stay with his mother, I met her as a young boy, she married several times but only after the birth of Grandad, at the time she was 19/20 years of age.
I have traced most of my family lines back to around 1800 but this one is a very frustrating gap
