how long does it take before unpaid loans are off your credit file

i did somet stupid an met my ex partner, who didn't agree wi debt, so i lied wen asked like a idiot an told him i didn't agree either(lovestruck) i left my work, town an started a new life, in another town using my mums bank account, we split 6 months ago, i now wish i cud turn back the clock. i am renting an paying loads, can't put my name on the rent book. iam living on egg shells how long before it is off my credit file an i can start a fresh? please help ?

The chances are they will hang around for quite some time, depending at what stage they are at i.e. County Court Judgements.

Credit Reference agencies log CCJ's and credit queries - the time CCJ's appear for is 6 years and you will need a "Certificate of Satisfaction" from the issuing court to have it removed - this usually cost �10.
