At the moment my patio is flooded from water coming down from a water-logged field. I have a small pump working to get rid of the water and I think it is just about keeping up. My question is would the fire brigade come and pump out the water if it started getting higher? I realize it is not an emergency as such but I would hate the water to start coming in the house.

they might do there was any danger to life or if the water was rising dramatically in your home. Have you got sandbags at all the doors?

Thank you for your reply. No I haven't got any sandbags. Do you know where you get them from? I think that I am going to be OK this time as the water hasn't risen any more today and no rain is forecast.
im sure the council supply them, could be worth calling them just to make sure you have some ready.

Thanks very much for all your help.
wychwood, when it's a bit drier you might want to either put a wall or simillar to divert the water round the side towards a drain or as my mate and i did, dig a sink hole three foot deep and put a pump in with a water level sensor. the outlet going to a drain.

Good idea markja, I'll think about that as this has now happened several times and with global warming etc flooding seems to be more common.
Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
