History of council plans, council maps
Hi, I am researching the history of a certain house in Bristol/South Gloucestershire for a documentary and am wondering is there a department that I need to contact, either within the government, the council, even the local library that can provide me with the history and planning area of the house (and, or its area).
I am particularly interested in the theory that a terrace of houses may have been built upon an old graveyard, which was moved a couple of miles from its original place.
Are there records made available publicly that may prove this?
Sorry for being a bit vague but the documentaryt is in its infancy and I don't want to divulge the exact location of the investigation.

Depending upon the location, you either need to contact Bristol City Council

However, the requirement for planning permission to be granted is a fairly recent development. It's likely that the properties were built well before anybody had ever heard of the concept of planning permission. In which case, you'll need to contact the relevant public records office:
