We have a problem with water In the back garden The house is on a slope and water runs down to the bottom where it collects . This is hapenning even if it rains or not .
Iv'e been unable to find out where it is coming from as you can only see it at the bottom of the garden - i.e it flows down under the soil .
There are allotments to the rear of the property , however the problem is stIll there in the winter months .
My neighbours on the same side of road have the same problem .
I wish to do up the garden Any ideas of the best way to deal with this problem ? Does anyone know of anybody / firms in the West Midlands area that could solve this problem ?
We had a septic tank and even when emptied it soon regained its original height. This is because the 'water table' was 1' below the surface and the surrounding ground water flowed into the tank.
Could this be your problem? ie. the bottom of your slope being below the water table level?
I should have said in my question that parts of the garden is flat and parts slopes
But in any event where the water collects on the patio area , is at a lower elevation , in relation to the other end of the garden
