Can this be used as evidence in court
If someone had said something on a public forum which I think could be used in evidence as part of a claim, even tho I cannot prove who wrote the document as people use different names, but I know who the person was.

I would seek legal advice if I were you - quite frankly most lay people dont understand what "evidence" is. I'm not blowing a trumpet for lawyers here (heaven forbid! ) and I've come across litigants in person who do a good job but in my experience most people who represent themselves dont appreciate what evidence is and what it is used for. Your question is itself a good example - what is this evidence going to prove ? Is the person who made the statement a witness or a party to the proceedings ?
Thank you for your replys, the evidence is being used by the defendant, apparently I wrote something on another forum which I do not remember writing, however it is not slanderous and nor is it untrue, I was just wondering how information on a public forum could be used as evidence, the person concerned has assumed it was me yet has no prove it was me, should I ask the court to dismiss the evidence?
If you are being prosecuted for libel/slander then it is for the claimant to prove that you were the author. He can refer to the publication and that can be an article in a magazine an item publish on the interenet or some other form of communication but he has to prove that you were the originator of it
