closing a bank account
I have tried to close my cheque account with the Lloyds TSB after falling out with them over back charges I paid off my overdraft and then asked them to close the account I was told that it could not be closed because I have a bank loan with them can anyone help please

Unfortunately, if your current account is linked for the payment of the loan you only have the option of paying off the loan, with possible charges that may involve, or just keeping enough each month in the account to pay the loan. You don't say whether this is one of those gruesome accounts that charge a monthly sum just for breathing. If it is, another loan may be the only option. Unfortunately, your mention of overdraft/charges makes me think you might have a bad credit rating so go careful. Are you aware that the Office of fair Trading investigating excessive bank charges and there is a court case ongoing. It may help you. Good luck
