My father has recently died and left his house to me. Can I sell it to my daughter privately without going through all the normal procedures ?

You're still going to have to use a solicitor to draw up a contract of sale and deal with the Land Registry registration. And pay the Land Transfer Tax, which is payable based on the LR transaction.
