Rights of ownership on home
My mother re married around 10 years ago, and the guy moved into our home and lived there for the best part of 10 years. He was never a named owner of the home and the ownership remained soley in my mothers name, now he paid only minimal rent and next to nothing of the up keep. He left around a year and a half ago, and has since put a block on the sale of the property and is now doing nothing in the legal proceedings.
Now my question is, is this block legal? can he just sit back and do nothing and keep everything in limbo? and does he have any substatial claim in the property?
Thanks in advance.

He is entitled to a share in the property I am sure as it is all part of the marital pot, however if she can prove that it was all on her contributions that can have a bearing on things. Best to get him off her back and the longer it goes on the more it will cost her as the property increases in value, so let the solicitor get things moving.
