Responsibility for Hedge Cutting
I planted a leylandii hedge on the boundary of my property about 30 years ago not realising what a pain it would become to maintain as I got older. My long-term neighbours are moving house soon which has prompted this question. I know my neighbours are not supposed to trim any part of the hedge which is not overhanging their boundary but am I legally obliged to cut their side of the hedge if they don't want to do it?

Yes I did consider that but on the advice of a landscape gardener rejected it as he said nothing could be planted where they had been. Also I would want to erect a fence in their place and would then maybe have the further problem of maintaining my neighbours' side of the fence.
