Untruths in an Affidavit

Some untrue statements were made in an affidavit. A statement of claim of ours was struck out, partly on the statements of the affidavit. 2 years on, we can now prove the untruths, which have been used along with other tactics to 'burn us off.' Can we sue the person who swore the affidavit.

I expect so because lying on an affadavit is contempt of court. You can file papers to alledge contempt of court. Can you not go to a free legal advice surgery?
