Driving without due care and attention
last july i was involed in a traffic accident i have been driving for twenty years a manual car but i had to renew my car and i bought a automatic car had ony been driving the car or two weeks i parked my car in a car parking spot got out to buy some chips as i got back into my car i started the engine to leave and i accidently put the car into drive instead of reverse through this the car jolted forward a few yards witch hit a table the table then hit a ladies leg she hadto go to hospital the police were very understang about the accident i have now been sent a summons for driveing without due careand attension becauce i could not afford at the time to go on adriver improvement course because i had been made redundant now i am working full time and wish i could take the course now could anybody tell what will happen to me with the summons. i have already pleaded guilty by post.

The only thing you can do if you still drive automatic is remember to hold your foot on the brake pedal when selcting gear, then release the handbrake and slowly release the brake pedal. The car's creeping in the direction would then tell you which direction you are going.
If you have selected the wrong direction then reapply foot brake and hand brake and change gear.
