what can i do with intruders
hi i have been having problems with youth in the scheme they have got to this stage that they climbed into my back garden and vandelised all the kids toys and broke a window and did other damage. then they broke my front window, the age group would be below 16 , what are my rights of putting a cctv camera, or what else could i do to protect my self and my familyies belongings, The sad things is that they all just think this is fun and they have broke other neighbours window etc.

CCTV not a bad idea - combined a motion sensitive camera with a motion sensitive light, and hopefully you will give you footage of any happenings.
If you get people to complain enough the kids will be ASBO'd (whoopty doo) but at least that is something.
This behavior could also fall into criminal law as if they lead you to believe that you are in immediate danger (which you should say when contacting the police) and so become assault. This should make the police etc a bit more co-operative...

Whilst I would not recomend this sort of action, I had some ''little scamps'' knocking my door, then banging my window, then throwing stones through windows last summer.
Being the gentle-natured (ahem) person I am, I organised one of my mates to stand behind my front door, whilst I stood out the back.
When they next tried banging the door, he leapt out and chased them around the back lane.
I then pounced and caught one. Needless to say, this little 5h1t wasn't expecting this, and he ''fell down the stairs'' (to coin a police term).
After a stern talking to, I promptly marched him to his parents house where his mum ensured that he toed the line.
Not had any problems since - whilst I don't condone this sort of action, it's the only way some kids will listen.
Funnily enough, they started doing it to someone living behind me - they stopped after he chased them for ages waving a metal bar - strange that!

Sorry mamjet, but he's lucky that I didn't shove him in the boot of my car and drive him up into the mountains then bury the little tw@t up to his neck.
Where I live, it's still pretty much a community, and behaviour like this (by children or adults) is not tolerated.
Granted it's more or less vigilante behaviour, but people toe the line a lot more.
I'm actually not a ##### idiot, but a law abiding citizen who respects his elders and other people's property. If you cross me, I will kick seven shades out of you - no exceptions.
He was very lucky that he wasn't on his own, or his parents would have been lucky if they found the body after I had finished with him. Kids like that need discipline. I know his parents, and they are well aware of what happened - he was suitably punished by them afterwards as well.
Whilst not condoning what I did, what's the alternative? Polcie give a slap on the wrist, Asbo? Pointless government spin - could smack around the bloody face they want (and I'm only 29!)
