is it illegal for a mother (still married, although seperated) to register the birth of her child to another man under her husband's name, when the husband knows he is not the father yet allows for this deception to take place willingly stating on the birth certificate that he is the father of this child. What would the consequences be.

What is stated on a birth certificate so a child knows that, whom he knows as dad is not his biological father. Many children are conceived by sperm donation under medical guidelines as their first child was
It makes no difference if the child is conceived with donated sperm - the father is still her husband and should be registered as such.

How do I register a child conceived after fertility treatment?

The woman who gives birth including a surrogate mother will be shown as the child's mother in the birth registration. The man who is to be regarded as the father of the child will generally be the husband or partner who received treatment with the mother.

There will be nothing on the birth certificate to indicate that the child is the result of donated sperm, or an adulterous relationship, or any other form of IVF treatment.

That is for the parents' to tell the child.

thankyou Ethel for your answers. Seems it is only a moral issue. There are many scenarios for debate that arise from my question but I will lay it to rest for now
