hope this is the right place for this question, so here goes, what is the laws for supermarkets that sell alcohol, for instance the times they can legally sell, not age

Its called a premises licence and, simply, the hours to be kept cannot be imposed on a blanket basis for an area but are individual for the premises and the activities they provide. Some will get, if applied for, permission to sell for 24 hours, although they may choose not to use that facility and close these sales at any time, depending on whether they have shift patterns for the right staff to authorise the sales. Others may be restricted because their location makes them more susceptible to trouble or congregations of young people. Each premises is required to have a summary of its licence on display to show the maximum opening (sale) times.
