Ian Blair says he was fired!

Sir Ian Blair has furiously denied London mayor Boris Johnson's account of his departure as Metropolitan Police Commissioner, senior officers said last night, insisting he did not resign voluntarily but was fired.

Do you expect him to make a large claim for compensation for wrongful dismissal. It is clear that the normal procedures of warnings and letters has not been followed, and that Boris' actions were politically motivated.

Blair should have gone after the murder of Jean Charles de Menezes. Johnson should also go, London has now become a laughing stock under his control.

I agree that he should have gone a long time ago, but the way Boris has botched it means that an unfair dismissal claim and lots of compo is a real possibility.

A record payout by the taxpayer looks to be on the cards.
