Abandoned houses... "try squatting in it, if you manage to get away with it for 12 years then the house will become legally yours" What can you tell me about that? What does happen to someone who occupy a house to live in, which seems to be abandoned? If the person starts to take care properly of that house � What are the problems and/or benefits? Thanks.... Wasn't this all changed a few years back. to only if the property wasn't registered?

He makes this clear in his answer.
Yes I did but not properly.....oooops

The land/property owner has 28 days in which to lodge a claim otherwise they squatter can then proceed to full ownership.
