This may sound strange, but is there any way of contacting the police/dvla to find out whether you are going to be issued with a speeding ticket? I know they have 14 days to respond but I don't think I can bear to wait that long!I'd rather just phone up and find out for myself!!

So you want to phone tyhe police, admit that you have been speeding and ask whether they are going to fine you or not? Are you mad?
That is really funny
ahem, I actually did that once and they said no... but that was years ago, they're probably a bit more proactive now
When you telephone and they ask you if you were speeding, please don't say you're not sure because you were lighting your fag with one hand and changing the cd with the other.

:)
Not a lot to be gained. If they weren't going to, but you, in effect, invite them to have a second look, they might decide to.Not quite as daft as it sounds. Some authorities don't prosecute automatically if the vehicle is going below a set margin above the limit (apart from the very small allowance made by law).Once you draw their attention to your case, someone might decide that, given the road or time of day or other factors, they should prosecute in your case !
I think if you're that impatient the police will assume you also drive too fast!
