My sons wife has deserted him and their three children, ages, boy fiftheen, girl nine, and boy six, and would like to know if she could claim custody of the girl. My son is a very capable person and has been the main carer of the children whilst she goes out and about most evenings to pubs etc. She has now absconded to Essex and withdrawn all the money, £1000. and left him with nothing. He has stopped any chance of her getting anymore cash in the future, but is worried about the children. A better father they couldn`t wish for.

Thanks, he has done this.
is she only asking for custody of her daughter so that she can claim some extra benefit? Of she is renting a place and not working she would only get her rent and council tax paid, but with a child aswell her income would increase dramatically.
