I am new to this so bear with me. The links are interesting - I have also come here to look for advice about a CC card debt. I realise that yes, I used the card I need to replay them, but what if I just cannot manage to? I am out of work right now, have been struggling to keep up mortgage repayments alongside other vital household bills and my CC is the last one on the list. The CC company wont listen, they are not sympathetic at all and now its (apparently because I received no paperwork for court hearings etc) been through the court system and bailiffs will call.
If they are never allowed in what exactly can they do?

Thats a good question and one I would also like answered, but it appears no one knows - yes its a bank, Nationwide
I wish they would put a on the house. In all honestly it does not look as if I can continue to pay the mortgage anyway although the Abbey are being exceptionally good about late/missed/half payments - I think my best bet may be to sell it. However, any profit will most likely be just enough to cover the fees etc

Can I claim housing benefit? I was under the impression I couldn't becaue the house is mortgaged not rented?
To be completely honest, I'm not sure they would - Naitonwide have sold the debt on now which is why the baliffs are threatening to call. I didn't think debt recovery firms would do this? It's one muddle after another right now

TReader. You will be entitled to help with your mortgage. They will pay the interest for you. Go and talk to your mortgage lender and see if they are willing to wait for the payments. I think you have to on JSA for 39 weeks before they start paying towards your mortgage (don't quote me on that though)
