well it completely depends on hw bad your whiplash injury was, how long it is expeted to last etc

This can vary. It depends on your insurance company (or the ins co for the vehicle you were travelling in). I put in a claim for whiplash (however it was in 2000) and received approx £1400, but it took 2 years to be settled and the insurance company made me have a medical check done.
